Hi,
I recently purchased a Click TV Wall Mount With Tilt and Swivel and am trying to mount a 48" TV to it. My issue is this - I have studs that line up sufficiently for the mount to be secured to the wall, but due to space constraints, the mount would not be centred on the wall where I would like the TV to be.
As such, is it possible to mount the TV on to the bracket, but not centred? Would be offset by about 10-15cm from centre. Would this create too much strain on the one side of the mount, possibly causing it to tilt, or any other issues?
Much appreciated,
Luke
Hi @Uiah,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you join us.
TV mounts are designed to allow for slight misalignment of studs, as it is very rare that your studs will sit perfectly where you need them to. As long as both the mounting brackets sit comfortably on the rail, then it will be fine.
I would think twice about it if you had a larger TV that was approaching the 40kg limit and you wanted to use the mount at full extension, but in the circumstances you've described, it should be ok.
If you still have concerns, I would consider using a fixed TV mount such as this Practa 37 - 85" Variable Height Fixed TV Wall Mount.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
