I've sanded over a tall boy and painting it using this paint, just wondering should I do a topcoat over it and what would best be suitable

I've just been in contact with the Dulux customer service team, and they don't recommend using Theatre Black as a furniture paint. The Theatre Black is designed to be used as a wall/ceiling paint and if used on furniture will marr and burnish the paint surface. Even if you paint it with a clear surface topcoat the paint is not structured to withstand day to day use as furniture paint. They suggest using New Porter's Revive Furniture range, or British Paints Chalk paint. These are designed for furniture use and are more robust.
