How many weep holes for bedroom window?

We are installing a window into a bedroom. In regards to weep holes in the window frame I think one for each section of the window would be suitable but hubby thinks 2 in each section would be suitable. I'm not sure how many weep holes they generally come with. What are your thought on this?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your windows.

The majority of the aluminium window frames I've seen always have two weep holes located at each end of the window. This is of course to allow water to drain out to prevent flooding from occurring in the window. I believe that two weep holes per channel should be sufficient to provide adequate drainage for the window.

The size and quantity of weep holes will vary depending on the size and type of window frame that’s suited to the glazing requirements by the various manufacturers.

Alterations to specifications of weep holes to the best of my knowledge is not possible across all manufactures unless it’s a ground up 100% custom window build.

It’s definitely not an area you guys need to worry about.

I 100% agre with @EricL and @Nailbag, Ive never really given it a thought before as the windows come from a manufacturer and have been built to either Australian rules or NZ rules. I have had weep holes covered up accidently 🙂 lol oh yeah they are there for a reason! 😀

I would go with whatever the manufacturer has as their standard.
