We are wanting to convert our current door into a barn door. We would like to make the design below. What type of wood or mdf would we use for the boarder and design as seen here?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Alysha16. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about timber trim work.
I'd recommend you use the white primed timber mouldings. The 12mm thick mouldings would likely be the best match.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks- I was leaning towards Mdf? https://www.bunnings.com.au/customwood-3-x-1800-x-900mm-diy-raw-mdf-mr-e0_p0590074
Hi @Alysha16,
Your first inspo image shows MDF trim work which has been glued and screwed to the front face of a door and is proud of it to create a 3d look. The image you've just posted now is a flat panel that has had a CNC machine engrave grooves into a flat sheet. Depending on which look you are going for, the current one you've posted could be achieved by cutting up the MDF sheet you've just linked to.
