How to change wardrobe doors to sliding?

 What is the easiest way to change the doors from swinging to sliding doors?

What are the best doors and tracks to buy. I want a wooden Hampton kind of look.

This is do able.

Basically all you need is a dual sliding door track top and bottom set as in the link.

You can repurpose your own doors as long as you can put wheel slots/grooves for wheels to sit in There is no indication of the maximum door thickness the new tracks will take so be aware of that. (To use your own doors)

Shelves maybe need to be trimmed at the front to fit the double door thickness.

The timber the door edges butts up to when closed (the name of this eludes me) will need to be removed so 2 doors can fit side by side on the new track set.

Alternatively  open the wall up and reshape it for an internal sliding door and join the two doors together and all should be well.

As @Jewelleryrescue has already mentioned, you can use a dual sliding door track. The top and bottom track are 89mm and 80mm wide respectively, so assuming your door jamb is at least this wide, you won't need to remove anything; you'll just have to fill the hinge rebates with Builder's Bog and then paint them.

Assuming your doors suit the desired aesthetic, you could simply reuse them as sliding doors. Alternatively, the Corinthian Cambridge Impressions Internal Door is Hamptons style and lightweight enough to use with this door system.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us.

The door tracks suggested in the discussion are designed for wardrobe systems only. It's a bit different when applying the sliding feature to a bedroom or bathroom door. The most common set used is the Hume 2040 x 820 x 90mm Evolution Flush Jamb Door Cavity Unit. Generally speaking, your door is removed and part of the timber door frame along with the wall to the left or right is removed as well. The door cavity unit is then installed along with the cavity track. Once the door and track are installed properly it is then covered with plasterboard and re-painted.

The other option is to use a Pillar 2150 x 1000mm White PVC Barn Door Complete Kit and mount it from the outside.
