How can I go about repairing this broken seal?
Is it an easy fix or should I call in some professionals?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @-ShaeC. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about window glass seals.
It looks like the glazing seal that normally holds the glass securely in the aluminium frame is missing along the top edge. To repair it properly, the glass panel usually needs to be removed from the frame, which involves undoing the frame screws, lifting the glass out, fitting a new glazing gasket around it, then reinstalling the glass and reassembling the frame. Because glass panes can shatter easily when removed or handled incorrectly, and because those specific glazing rubbers are not commonly available off the shelf, it is generally more practical and much safer to have a glazier take care of it for you. A professional would have the correct seal on hand and could usually complete the job in under an hour. This avoids the risk of damaging the panel and gives you a neat, watertight finish without the stress.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
