Hi All,
My ceiling has a bead bar alike droping from one side (see images). Any idea if it can be an easy fix and what causes it? Thanks for the help and suggestions!
Hello @laidarren
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your ceiling beading.
Generally speaking, the damage can be repaired by gluing, nailing or screwing the beading back into place. Once the bead has been secured the damage needs to re-plastered and then painted over. However, on closer inspection it appears that your beading has been built with a shadow line which adds a level of complexity to the repair. In this particular instance, I suggest engaging the services of a professional plasterer to repair the damage to your ceiling as they will be able to reconstruct the ceilings profile.
The only reason I can think of for the damage to occur is movement in the ceiling frame. Perhaps some part of your house is shifting or settling and has caused part of the ceiling framework to move.
Let me call on our experienced members @Jewelleryrescue and @Remarka6le for their recommendations.
