Hi I've noticed my cornice is cracking in sections and coming away. How would you recommend repairing and what would cause it to cracking thank you.

I suggest having a quick look at this guide - How to repair a cracked cornice. The general steps to repair is to clean the cracked section and remove any loose plaster or debris. If the cornice is loose then it will need to be glued back on, or a screw will need to be placed in certain sections to keep the cornice down. Caulking can then be applied to crack to finish it off. For very fine cracks I suggest using Poly 140g Rapid 30 Quick Drying Filler - 140g.
In regards to the cause of the cracks, it could be due to walls settling or the ceiling frame moving or shifting.
