How to fix damaged screw hole in chipboard?

I've just purchased a second hand bunk bed, but one of the holes are like this and meant for the screw pictured. Will this hold ok or what can I do to fix it? Thanks!

Re: How do I fix this?

Hello @rmala7,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your bunk bed.

I suggest bringing your furniture screw and its attachment to the store and comparing the smaller piece to the Taskmaster M6 x 13mm Screw-In Insert Nut Flat Surfaces and see if they are the same size. If they are, I recommend attaching the new nut insert to to your bed panel and make sure its tight. You'll need an Allen key to screw it into the hole. You can then continue with your assembly.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
