Kids accidentally made is whole on the wall while playing...i would like to know how to fix it. Any estimate cost to buy materials.
it is about 5 cm in length...
Hi @rajeshk,
It’s a bit hard to tell from your photo how large the hole actually is. If you could hold something up for size comparison, that would help us get a better idea of how intensive the repair will be.
From what I can see, you’re probably on the borderline between being able to simply fill the area with a plaster filler and needing to patch or replace a small section of plasterboard.
If the material that’s been pushed into the hole still feels relatively solid, meaning if you press gently with your finger and it doesn’t move much, you should be fine to repair it with a plaster filler. Just pack the filler into the hole until it sits slightly proud of the surrounding surface, then sand it back flush once dry. Apply a thin skim coat to even out any small imperfections, sand again, then undercoat and paint.
All up, you can expect the total cost of materials for this repair to be around $50-$100, including the undercoat and paint.
However, if the broken material inside the hole feels loose or soft and won’t support filler, you’ll need to use a patch product or reinforce the area so the filler has something solid to adhere to and doesn’t just fall into the cavity.
Here’s a helpful guide to walk you through the process: How to fix a hole in the wall.

Thanks Mitchell, I have further uploaded the picture with exact size of impact.
I need suggestion, as my concern is there is hole in the wall ( refer to images) which will cannot fill with plaster.
So, im bit worried how to fix it.
Please advise.
Hi @rajeshk,
I think the hole is too big to simply fill.
I'd suggest grabbing a Selleys Spakfilla Wall Repair Kit and following the steps outlined in How to Fix a Hole in the Wall to repair the damage.
Once the patch has been coated and sanded smooth, apply primer, allow it to dry then paint to match the surrounding wall.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
