I’d like to hang foam acoustic panels in my room but i live in a rental home so i cant use anything that penetrates the wall or tears paint, the panels weigh under a kilo. What can i use?

You could use some of these Command™ Large White Adhesive Strips. They are able to support 2.2kg each. With one in each corner of the panels, your acoustic panels would be well supported.
These strips are your best option in a rental, but if the paint is poorly adhered, they can still remove the paint. If the paint is in good condition, then you shouldn't have any issues.
