Hi purchase these panels and installed in a wall and they look really cheap and shiny. They are marketed as paintable but everything I now read shows it will be a challenge to paint pvc and get a natural finish. Is it possible to add texture to the panels so they don’t look so ‘plastic’ and if I attempt to paint which paint do you think would be best.
Hi @ritams,
If you wish to paint the panels, I would suggest lightly scuffing the surface with 240-grit sandpaper. You can then apply Dulux Max Adhesion primer, which is designed to adhere to PVC. From there, you can coat with any water-based paint, such as Aquanamel.
After they've been painted, the finish will be the same as any door or wall. There would be no need to add a textured paint, unless that's the look you'd like to achieve.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
