Hi,
What is the best method to paint decorative ceiling?
See photos attached. Thank you
Hi @Ukr125,
The best way to paint a decorative ceiling is usually with a roller. A 12 mm nap roller should be sufficient to reach the lower portions of the pattern and allow you to paint it much like a standard ceiling. For the first coat, it can help to roll in the same direction as the ridges rather than perpendicular to them, changing the direction for each square to follow the pattern. For the second coat, you can typically roll the whole ceiling in one direction. It’s a good idea to test first to see if the 12 mm nap covers the low sections adequately. If not, you might try a roller with a longer nap, such as the UNi-PRO 270 mm 20 mm Nap Genius Sheepskin Paint Roller Cover, which works well with textured surfaces.
With a bit of testing, you should be able to find the right roller to get an even finish on your decorative ceiling.
If you struggle to achieve good coverage with a roller, consider using a paint sprayer, such as the Wagner Flexio 575 Paint Sprayer. Remember to cover the surrounding surfaces and floor to avoid overspray.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
