How to paint floor tiles?

Hi

What is the best way to paint floor tiles? These tiles are in one massive living room .

Re: How to paint floor tiles?

Hi @AJ-DIYer,

I'd suggest you check out this handy step-by-step article on How To Paint Floor Tiles.

It recommends using the Dulux Renovations Range Tile Paint.

The best way to paint your tiles would be with a paint roller on a pole such as this UNi-PRO 230mm Roller On A Pole With 1.55m Extendable Handi-Pole.

Let me know what you think and if you have questions about specific aspects of the project, please let me know so I can assist further.

Re: How to paint floor tiles?

Thanks,

So I still need to apply a primer and then paint the living room tiles? Or is the primer shown on the video for bathroom/wet areas?

Also, if primer is needed, how many hours after the primer is applied I can paint?

Re: How to paint floor tiles?

Hi @AJ-DIYer,

Yes, you will have to use the primer regardless of where the paint is used.

Dulux recommend allowing the primer to dry for 4 hours before the application of your topcoat.

You will have to use the Dulux Renovation Range Floor Paint in either Satin or Gloss, both of which require 8 hours between coats.

Have a look through the Dulux Renovation Range Brochure, which answers many of the questions you might have. If there are any things it can't answer, please let me know so I can assist further.

Re: How to paint floor tiles?

Sure, thanks for the info.

Unfortunately,  the product reviews aren't that good for this type of paint. Is there another solution?

Also, they come in only white and grey?

Re: How to paint floor tiles?

Hi @AJ-DIYer,

There are other tile paints, such as the White Knight Renew Tile And Laminate Paint; however, they are not recommended for use on floors, only wall tiles.

There are two different bases, one is "white" and one is "deep". These bases can be tinted to over a thousand different colours. You are not limited in terms of colour with the Dulux Renovations paint.

Unfortunately, the Dulux Renovation Range paints are the only ones that I am aware of that can be used on tiled floors, as they include a slip additive.

If you are looking for an easy way to change up your floors, the Dulux Renovation range paints are your best option, but alternatively, you could always remove and replace the tiles, or tile directly over the top.

Let me know what you think.
