How to render and plaster a portion of internal brick wall?

Hi, I knocked down a small brick pony wall and now I need to render and plaster. What products will I need to get and what is the easiest way to fix it so it is flush with the existing wall? I know I need to fill up the gap in the wall first too, but not sure what I could use. The flooring will be replaced so it won’t be an issue.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about rendering.

If you have exposed electrical wires, I suggest engaging the services of an electrician, they will cover and make safe those exposed wires in your wall. To cover the deep sections of the brick wall, I suggest using Dingo Fast Set Mortar - 10kg. Once the mortar has totally cured, I propose using Dunlop 20kg Multipurpose Acrylic Render to render your brick wall. Please note that rendering too early will trap the moisture coming out of the mortar and will produce cracks on the surface of the finish.

Thanks for the tip about the exposed wires however Those are actually brick ties in the picture which I will need to cut off.

am I able to use dunlop rapid set mortar instead as it would be more convenient for me at this time.

Dunlop rapid set mortar will work just as well for the deep holes of the wall.
