I am trying to put back together the tail of a horse lamp and the tail broke. It's made of resin,not sure how to tackle it without experience.

You might like to show our helpful members an image of the damage as it would give them a much better idea of what you are working with.
I'd suggest that a product like Selleys 24ml Araldite Ultra Clear Epoxy Adhesive should be suitable. It doesn't instantly grab, so you'll need to support the tail in position until the epoxy dries.
I'll be looking forward to some more details and helping to provide a solution.
