I am wanting to remove the 4 glass panels from my cabinet and use PE rattan, the cabinets are off white, so what colour rattan and how to apply it
Hi @Paix,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
Can I trouble you to upload some photos of the cabinet? Particularly, how the glass is currently installed.
Seeing how it is constructed, as well as seeing the colour, will help our members offer their best advice.
Let me know if you need some help uploading images. I am happy to help if required.
I am a fan of the natural brown timber coloured rattan against off white, so that would be my selection. The contrast between the off-white and brown gives a very nice coastal look.
Installing the rattan could be done in a few different ways, depending on the construction of the cabinet. You may be able to use staples through the back of the rattan into the door frame to attach it. You may also be able to use a timber bead attached to the frame with brad nails with the rattan sandwiched between the bead and the door frame.
If there is no good spot for attaching mechanical fixings such as staples or brad nails, then contact adhesive might also be an option.
Please also remember to take great care when working around glass, as there is always the potential for lacerations. Wear gloves, enclosed shoes, long protective clothing and eye protection to reduce the risk of lacerations.
Let me know what you think and if you have further details, please add them so I can assist further.
