How to revamp 70s crazy paving rock wall?

Hi guys,

I need help. Please give me tips on how to paint this 70s rockwall white or a whole lot lighter etc.

Any prep, how to paint it and with what/which paint would be appreciated.

We are busting up the old fireplace you see in front.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about painting your rock wall.

If this is just a rock wall and is nowhere near a heat source such as an active fireplace, I suggest using Selleys 1L Wall Surface Cleaner Super Concentrate Sugar Soap to clean the rock surface. Once the surface is totally dry, I recommend using Dulux 1L PRECISION White Maximum Strength Adhesion Primer.

For the topcoat, I propose using Dulux 4L Vivid White Low Sheen Wash&Wear +PLUS Anti-Scuff Interior Paint tinted to your preferred colour.

Hi @Nikswa,

Just wanted to welcome you to the community, and to perhaps hit pause on your project and get a few thoughts from others on whether painting the rocks is the way to go. I think it's a brilliant feature, but I might be a little biased as I own a 50s home and have a crazy paved fireplace too.
