Got storage cubes and Kmart floating shelves.
Joined two bench tops together with glue and a biscuit joiner and some joiner plates underneath as I needed extra length. Then sanded and coated it with a hard wax oil.
Cut up strips of timber left from cutting one of the bench tops down and rounded the edges then cut the ends on a 45 degree angle to make the timber house on the back wall.
Added dowel and curtain rod ends to the front of the floating shelves for books to stay on the shelves.
Made the 2 little kids chairs out of vic ash timber - cut 2 big circles and 4 seat backings out. Added dowel for the legs with furniture leg brackets and sanded it all and coated with hard wax oil.
Added decals to the back wall
As the wall suggests, I'm sure this room is your kids' happy place @sharnpaterson.
The large benchtop is really smart and I'm sure is often filled with activity and wonderful creations.
Many thanks for sharing.
