Recycled timber side tablesmall side table for lounge room. Made from totally recycled timber Busselton Mens shed.
Materials
Jarrah, Red Gum, Mari & Banksia Wood Glue
Tools
Bench saw, belt sander, Palm sander, sanding block 120 to 180 grit paper, Router & 1/4 bit, Bandsaw ,G clamps, tape measure, adjustable square, pencil.
Steps

Sourced timber offcuts from the timber rack. Cut enough strips for both legs and leg base’s. Marked off the slots in the table leg bases. Cut the 6mm slots in the base’s using bench saw with the blade adjusted to a depth of 12 mm. Using 40x 20 x 250 long Mari. Leg strips 30 x6 x 450 Long Jarrah & Mari . Glued and clamped timber strips in the base and glued 60 mm off the top of the strips together.
Step 3
Cut two Red Gum supports for underneath the top of the table top to stabilise and support the table top and legs. Routed all edges and hand sanded the supports.

Cut top strips of Jarrah, Red Gum & Banksia for the table top. Belt sanded and finished with a palm sander. Glued strips together, dry overnight. Sanded the top , finishing with palm sander and hand sanding . Used a paint tin to mark a curved corner , used the Band Saw to cut the edges. Sanded then routed all around with hand router with 1/4 ( 6mm) bit. Hand sanded all around the edges. Glued the table top and corner braces to the legs. Extra Mari strips added to the feet on the table Left overnight to dry.

Used two coats of polyurethane interior varnish, sanding between coat’s. Let each coat dry overnight. Enjoying making this project from recycled materials, using up materials from the wood rack. It has had lots of positive comments from fellow Members at the Busselton Mens Shed. Cheers Mick
