The power of paint: Fireplace makeover

afterafter

An original fireplace can be one of the best features of a house, but this one was very boring and outdated. I added a modern take on it by painting the surround a modern charcoal and added a little bit of wall paper detail. I stripped the paint off the top to reveal the solid jarrah underneath that matched in nicely with the existing floor boards. I then used the audit feather finish concrete over the top of the tiles. I didn't want a real wood burning fireplace so I got an electric  fireplace insert and filled the gaps with some wooden logs.

What a stunning transformation, @Melzie! You've done some excellent work there, and I trust you are absolutely delighted with the results.

I love the overall look, and the added touches like the firewood are just fabulous. Your styling is also very inspiring.

Many thanks for sharing.
