Upcycled lampshade

Upcycled lampshade

Purchased a table lamp with a white shade but wanted to change it up for my upcoming retro themed bar room.

Before.

Used paint left over from a sample pots. Used a damp soft cloth, and watered down the paint with approx 10% water then sponged it on to lamp shade. Allowed it to almost dry then immersed it into a bath of water. This produced a washed out distressed effect to the lampshade.

Once dried with the lamp on it gives a beautiful subdued lighting.

Re: Upcycled lampshade

Hello @SoniaM

Thank you so much for sharing your lamp shade upcycle project. It looks lovely and is very nicely painted, it gives the effect of swirling mist and figures inside. Definitely has given the lampshade a new character.

We look forward to seeing your next creation.

Eric
