What colour should I paint my bedroom for vintage theme?

As I understand it vintage cottage core is characterized by a love for vintage, rustic, and handcrafted items, creating a cozy and nostalgic atmosphere. Vintage cottage core is not just about the colour of the room but the surrounding accessories that complete the look. A cottagecore colour scheme is characterized by soft, muted, and earthy tones that evoke a sense of warmth, comfort, and nature. Think of colours found in a wildflower garden or a tranquil river scene. I've placed some raw material colours as an example from the Dulux range but there heaps more to choose from.

The vintage theme is timeless and always comfortable.  It anchors itself in grace, style and warmth.  Follow these themes and take a look at the fixtures around your room that you can't change - like window frame colours and furniture and flooring.  Use those colours to ensure the new wall colour you pick won't clash or 'feel wrong'.

The Porters Paints range has a brochure called 'The Capsule Collection, which has a range of stunning modern colours that would fit the vintage theme very well.

Have a look on Pinterest to find images that appeal to you.  Then see if you can match up the colours you see with the colour swatches in store.  Grab a few testers and see what you think. I don't want to suggest some colours because your idea of vintage may encompass a different era than I have in mind. Pay attention to the gloss level.  Matt is a more modern feel and could have an older distemper look, while satin or eggshell is more like 20th century.
