What hook should I use to hang a 1kg clock on a plasterboard wall?
Hi @artarmonboy,
Thank you for your question and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community.
I'd suggest you can use Zenith 10kg SureHook Plasterboard Insert Screw Picture Hanger. They are designed to hold up to 10kg, so they far out weight your requirements.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi @artarmonboy,
Just to add to this, where possible, it is always best for any hooks to be embedded in a stud, so the load is supported by timber as opposed to plasterboard.
You could use a stud finder to locate the stud and then use Hangman Double Headed Black Bear Claw Screws to hang the clock from. This will give you much more strength, as the weight of the clock is being transferred into the timber and down through the wall.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Just tried this, unfortunately the valley of these hooks are not wide enough to fit on the plastic back where to hang most clocks
Hi @em_south,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
I'm sorry to hear that the solution I posed in the past did not work for you. If you had a clock with a wire across the back of it, then these hooks would still be suitable, but something like this Zenith 20kg Zinc Plated SureHook Heavy Duty Toggle Picture Hanger, which has a more pronounced metal hook, might be more suitable for you.
Ultimately, there is a wide variety of hooks that should work; you may just need to use a WallMate Plasterboard Anchor to screw them into.
If it is not too cumbersome, it is likely worth taking the clock in store with you to check for a hook that will work with your clock's mounting point.
Let me know if there is anything else I can assist with.
Jacob
Hi @em_south,
No photos but I know what you mean the back of clock is recessed.
Something like this.
Cheers
