Hello,
I have a square of mfd. I want to paint it in white. The paint must withstand some cleaning (wet cloth with standard kitchen products). Is there a paint that I could use?
Thanks a mil
Hi @ventodimare,
Start with a good primer, since raw MDF is very absorbent and can swell if exposed directly to moisture. I'd suggest this Dulux 1Step Prep Primer, Sealer & Undercoat is a great option.
Once primed and dry, you can use a water-based enamel paint like Dulux Aquanamel in a satin or semi-gloss finish. It dries hard, is moisture-resistant, and is specifically formulated to withstand regular cleaning.
Use a high density foam roller to apply the primer and paint. One of these rollers will give you a very even, streak-free finish without leaving roller texture or lint behind. MDF has a flat, smooth surface, and a foam roller helps maintain that look by laying down a thin, uniform coat of paint that levels out nicely as it dries.
Ensure you let each coat cure fully before using any kitchen cleaners on it.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
