Can bathroom tiles be used outside?

Hi Experts,

I have a stack of leftover bathroom tiles from the build collecting dust/web in the garage.

What are the chances of using these as either:

floor covering for the alfresco area (concrete)
stepping stone
alternative for pavers (20sqm area)

material: ceramic (or porcelain?) GL-Vit
Slip risk: R09 / P2
Matte finish
8mm thick

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your tiles.

In your opinion are the tiles in your current bathroom slippery? When they are wet or have moisture on them are they slippery? Is it easy to walk on or have you ever found yourself slightly slipping on the surface? I only ask because despite the matt finish it has a P2 slip rating which is not very good floor a floor tile, it has a high risk of slipping. I've placed a slip rating table below. You would want at least a P3 or P4 for safety.

Using these tiles for any of the those projects you mentioned will carry the risk of slipping. If you were to use it in your alfresco area where it might be covered, I suggest using DTA 1L Anti Slip to add extra grip to the tile. But for pavers and stepping stones, I would not recommend it.
