Outdoor kitchen built for our courtyard to include a kamado style BBQ and small bar fridge.
Built with besser blocks, AAC blocks, rendered and painted. Doors from ekodeck screens.
1. Secured subfloor and concrete pavers
2. Laid damp proofing under bottom layer of bricks stuck down with mortar.
3. Laid bottom layer of besser blocks on top of mortar to get a flat and lever base
4. Used landscape liquid nails to adhere the remaining layers of besser blocks.
5. Added rebar layer on top of the top layer of besser blocks to add stability to the AAC concrete Block top.
6. Used AAC adhesive to lay the AAC blocks along the top to form a counter.
7. rendered the walls and counter top.
8. Used a 600 x 600 concrete paver to sit on top of the blocks where the BBQ will be to provide a stable flat surface to hold the heavy bbq. Stuck down with mortar.
9. Painted the top and walls.
10. Sealed the counter top.
11. Added the doors and drawer.
Hello @ReeceD
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us.
This outdoor kitchen setup is a beautifully executed build, thoughtful, solid, and stylish. Every step in the process, from the damp-proofing and rebar reinforcement to the crisp rendering and clean finishes, shows a great eye for both structure and design. The choice of materials balances strength with sleek aesthetics, and that kamado-style grill fits like a glove in its purpose-built home. The rich slatted cabinet doors add a modern, textural contrast to the smooth concrete surfaces, and the integration of a bar fridge rounds out the space perfectly for entertaining.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful outdoor kitchen/BBQ setup.

Hu @ReeceD,
Great job and those Kamado BBQ's really enhance the flavor and tenderness of the meat(s) so wondering how far you are from 3150 😋
