Best render to use for outdoor fireplace?

I've just finished getting ready to render this fireplace. All external edges have angle trim glued on already.

What type of render would you recommend? We are probably talking 4-8mm thick max.

I am rendering over a mixture of concrete (hearth), villaboard and Hebel.

Re: Best render to use for outdoor fireplace.

Hello @ninja95

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your fireplace.

That fireplace layout looks fantastic. It might be a good idea to have a quick chat with the fireplace manufacturer to see what render they recommend. Regular render isn’t the best option for fireplaces as it is not fire rated, and manufacturers often have specific products they suggest to make sure everything is fire safe.

The store does have fire rated such as Dingo 10KG Fire Rated Mortar Bag. But it is always best practice to make sure so that you use the correct product.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric
