Can you self-install an outdoor roller blind?

I am hoping to buy and install an outdoor roller blind, the type that is pulled down by hand and retracts on release. I am interested in the Coolaroo brand that is 2.4M X 2.4M in graphite or grey colour. My question is will I be able to install this myself onto the wood that surrounds the under cover roof. I don't know if the blind is meant for wood or masonry.

Also is this a one or two-man job?

Re: Can you self-install an outdoor roller blind?

Thanks for your question, @nels. Could I please request you to upload photos of the area where you are planning on installing the roller blind, including the under cover roof? This will help our resident Bunnings D.I.Y. expert @EricL and other members get a better idea of what you require and will enable them to provide more helpful suggestions.

Let me know if you need any help uploading photos. Happy to assist.

Re: Can you self-install an outdoor roller blind?

Hello @nels

Thank you so much for posting those photos of your outdoor area. If you are looking at the Coolaroo 2.4 x 2.4m Natural Easy Release Outdoor Roller Blind. It can be easily installed on underside or face mounting surfaces. It can be installed on timber and masonry surfaces. You will need an extra pair of hands when installing the roller blind.

It is made of high-quality PVC in natural or gun metal tones, providing over 90% UV protection. It's cord and crank-free and works with a simple-lift mechanism with speed and stop adjustment. It has a quick-mount bracket system for easy installation and removal.

Here are some handy guides to help with your installation:

Please make sure to take all necessary safety precautions when working on a ladder. Please remember to wear personal protection such as gloves and goggles when working on your project.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.
