Steps
Step 1
design and planning project.. 88x88 design pine used as joists, mounted under the eaves and attached to the bottom cord of roof trusses.

Step 2
Design pine used again bearers and rafters

Step 3
18 x 88 do used as battens, screwed from underneath, so no requirement to get up on the roof, safety ,, screw heads now became a design feature. Off set spaces in roof were purely decorative..

Step 4
Screens used vertical and horizontal posts 88 x 88 spine posts..

Step 5
Circular feature in the screen we used 18 x 88 design pine battens. Circular feature was deliberately off set to one side.. Sunray pattern was set out using simple geometry with screw heads exposed for visual effect.

Step 6
Circle was fabricated from design pine, layers for strength. Core 10 steel silhouette of Aussie scene, main core of the whole garden. Proudly Australian.. added to circle..

Step 7
Ends of all beams were shaped into 4 sided pyramids, overall visual effect..

Step 8
Side roof and screen set were marking out the carport. Straight beams again with feature holes in roof. Battens on the side included 3 etched glass panels, rescued from garage sale , from demolished state bank, Ballarat, approx 140 yrs old..

Step 9
let’s paint.!!! All timer work painted white. “ white paint may not always be right, but is never wrong” great colour to use.

Step 10
Courtyards are finished.. all extra plants added. Sit back and enjoy when summer arrives . Panel behind the staghorn now enhances the central panel.. thanks Bunnings..
