Garden fence gate

Made this 1.8 m high( 900 wide) garden gate to match my 1.8 m high fence. Gives me access to reserve at the back of my property.

Materials

1.8 long fence palings 150x19x1800

Decking timber: 90x19

 

Tools

Bosch Blue drill and drivers

Steps

Step 1

1. Buy 6 fence palings 150x19x1800

 

Step 2

2. Cut decking timber to borders at 45 degree angle

Step 3

3. Screw decking timber border to palings

Step 4

4. Attach brackets and hang on fence

Step 5

5. Attach lock mechanism to gate

Great work, @Oreoprojects! I'd imagine that was quite a budget-friendly way of creating a gate and your construction methods looks the bee knees. Have any images of the gate in place?

Hi. Mitchell. Thanks for the positive comments. I have attached a photo of the gate attached to the fence. Yes  - it was very cost effective - materials from Bunnings Botany in Akl(always great staff in the the timber yard) cost me approx $80. I was quoted $550 - $650 for someone to make a similar gate.Garden Gate.jpgGarden gate 2.jpg
