Hampton cane lounge upcycle

Repainted,recovered cushionsRepainted,recovered cushions

My friend hated this mouldy old cane lounge and wanted to dump it. I absolutely loved it and new I could rescue this beautiful rare classic cane lounge for my new Hampton house. First I blasted it with a water pressure machine to remove the years of dirt and mould and dried it in the sun. Next, spray the cane with flat white paint. My first attempt was with individual spray cans but this was taking too long so I decided to invest in a spray gun. It took a while to get used to get the mixture right but it was definitely quicker. The cushions were able to be saved and recovered.

Re: Hampton cane lounge upcycle

Hi @Dporter

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your Hampton cane lounge upcycle project.

That cane set definitely has many more years of service in it. That pressure washing session has really peeled back the years and removed all the grime and dirt in that cane lounge. I'm glad you invested in a paint spray gun, this would have taken forever if you had persisted in using spray cans.

The results are phenomenal and the set looks totally brand new. I'm betting that your friend wants the cane set back, now that you've rejuvenated it.

We look forward to seeing your next project.
