Re: How can I paint saver around pool?

Hi @timmyg,

You can definitely paint the pavers around your pool to update their look — charcoal is a great choice for a modern, clean finish. A reliable option is the Dulux range of paving paints, such as Dulux Concrete & Paving, which are suitable for use in outdoor areas and around pools. These paints are formulated to withstand moisture, foot traffic, harsh weather and can also be tinted to your desired colour.

If your pavers are unsealed and porous, you typically won’t need a separate sealer — the paint will bind well on its own. However, if the pavers have been sealed previously, you may need to lightly etch the surface or use a suitable primer to ensure the paint adheres properly. To test them, add a few drops of water to the surface of a paver in a shaded area and wait 30 minutes. If the droplet absorbs, they don't need the sealed surface primer.

Before painting, make sure to clean the surface thoroughly to remove any dirt, mould, or grease as directed on the can. If your pavers are unsealed and porous, you typically won’t need a separate sealer — the paint will bind well on its own.  Be sure to follow the product’s instructions and drying times for the best and most durable result.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
