I'm sorry you are having difficulties with assembly.
It would be really helpful if you could add a couple of photos to your post, as it will make it much easier to see whether the issue is caused by an assembly mix-up or whether the parts don’t match. If the axle bar and bottom support are different widths, it is usually either an orientation or assembly step that needs adjusting, or it could potentially be a manufacturing fault. Returning the cart to the store and chatting with a team member is a good next step, since they may be able to show how the display model is put together. In the meantime, if you could upload images, we can guide you through the assembly online if needed. Let me know if you need any assistance uploading images.
There is a fairly detailed image of the axle setup on the product page, in case that gives you an indication of how it is to be assembled.
