After advice on how to install these https://www.bunnings.com.au/pryda-90mm-m10-bolt-down-post-anchor_p0503056 ?
I have looked at the installation instructions provided by Pryda which shows the post engulfing the bolts that go into the ground
So how does that work? Do I have to drill out space for the top of the ground bolts so the post sits flush at the bottom?
Hi @KillKen,
There needs to be a gap at the bottom so the post is not sitting directly on the metal base. This would trap water and lead to the early onset of decay. You should sit the post on the nuts, which raises it off the base.
The angle of the rendering makes it look like it's flat on the support. There are a couple of other renderings that suggest the same, and I've provided feedback to Pryda on this. I've contacted Pryda's engineers, and they've said that the post sits on top of the Dynabolts; you don't need to recess the post to accommodate them.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Ok thanks for that. I was going to use them for the last post on ground level on a handrail for external stairs, will they be sturdy enough? The post will be connected to the stair stringers as well.
They should be sturdy enough, @KillKen, though that really depends on the rest of your design and whether there is adequate crossbracing between posts.
