How do I remove the base plate of the door bell?

Hi all,

I'm planning to change my existing door bell

to one with security camera.

When I try to remove the old one, I am unable to figure out how to remove it as I cannot see any screws over the back plate. It seems to stick quite hardly on the wooden door frame.

Is it supposedly to be glued only, so I should try to just remove by force? Or any tips or tricks to remove it?

Many thanks for your question.

It looks like it has been stuck on mounting tape such as this Scotch-Mount Extreme Double-Sided Mounting Tape.

They can be surprisingly sticky, so it may seem like you are going to break something, but forcefully removing the plate is the way to do it.

A small flathead screwdriver should be adequate to lever the plate off.
