How to add drainage around pool?

I want to put a drainage grate around the pool for two reasons, 1. To stop water seeping down side of pool wall 2. Collect the water from surface area and store in a tank to return to pool when water evaporates as we are on tank water.

the pool area is 15 x 8 but has minimum fall over the 15m length .

need some advice as the rule of thump would require 150mm fall over that distance.

I'll add that the amount of water exiting the pool, even with kids playing, would be minimal unless it was filled right to the brim. There might not be enough to collect to warranty a customised collection system. Such grates are typically used on infinity pools where significant water is lost over the edge. With that said, you might only require standard rainwater drainage to stop surface water from the tiles spilling over the edge in heavy rainfall.

Hi Mitchell

thanks for the detail response and ideas I need to consider long term , the drainage won’t be visible as the deck will over lap the tiles by 50mm and under the deck so I need to keep as cost effective as possible but functional rather then ascetic
