Re: attach bunnings stringers to concrete cladding westhetboard

Greetings Beb (@beb69),

Welcome! It's fantastic to have you as part of the Bunnings Workshop community.

There's no need to remove the weatherboards, I am almost certain there will be timber behind them.

Assuming the floor is in line with the bottom of the door, there will be a timber bearer running underneath the door frame.

You can always check by predrilling through the weatherboard. You will be able to feel the timber behind the weatherboard.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Jacob

Re: attach bunnings stringers to concrete cladding westhetboard

Hello @beb69

I believe the notches will need to be cut off in order for the stringer to be installed properly to the timber bearer. If properly anchored, I don't think it's necessary to install a joist hanger under the stringer. But before you start fixing the stairs to your house, I suggest checking your local council's rules and regulations in regards to attaching steps to your home.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
