How to build a deck in alfresco
Hi.
We are looking to build a deck in our alfresco. We have recently build so have concrete slab in the alfresco so no leveling needed. The floor isnt too deep so just a step down so we need a low deck.
Our alfresco is 4200mm x 2800mm. Can someone guide us if the pre-made frames are better or building a base ourselves is beneficial?
A photo of what we would like to achieve and our plans attached.

Re: How to build a deck in alfresco
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @SyedR. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about deck construction.
Using our modular decking system from Good Times with their custom deck frames makes building your deck a super simple process. You won't need to work out what specifications are necessary or how to support the deck. Simply add the supports and install the frames and deck panels. Here's a buying guide to modular decking systems and easy to follow step-by-step instructions for installation: How to install modular decking.
Building your deck from scratch allows it to be tailored to your needs and will likely be more budget-friendly. However, there will be substantially more work involved. To familiarize yourself with the process, check out @Adam_W's helpful articles on How to build a low-level deck and How to select decking timber.
How low will your deck need to be? Your working height is measured from the top of the concrete slab to the bottom of your door sill. If you can let me know that height, I can make some suggestions on timber for the frame and if the Good Times modular system would be suitable.
While you are making your decision on what style deck you'll build, make sure to view our Top 10 most popular deck projects for inspiration.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
