How to build a pergola attached to brick wall?

Hi there

i am aiming to build a pergola ready for this summer , it will be built out of f27 Blackbutt as that is what I have on hand

i have read a lot of mixed things about the feasibility of attaching a ledger board to a brick veneered wall, I’d love to get an idea if this is possible

ideally attaching the pergola to the home along the red line , then running rafters away from the home

As far as I'm aware, it states in the National Construction Code that brick veneer walls are not suitable mounting points for structures. However, I believe you can mount through them into the structural timbers behind. It would be best to engage the services of an engineer or builder to provide advice on suitable connection methods.
