How to build an outdoor ball pit?

seeking ideas on how to make a ball pit for my dog, ideally outside or one that would be easy to move around.

ideas on dog gates for inside- blocking areas of the house would also be great!

Re: How to build an outdoor ball pit?

Hi @Lavigca,

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

My first thought was to simply grab an animal enclosure with an open top. They are lightweight, portable and would be easy enough to fill with balls for your dog to play in.

You could also build your own out of some simple materials like plastic garden edging and garden edging pegs. Simply grab your edging, unroll it into the shape of a big circle and peg it in. You can then fill the area with balls, let your dog go wild, and when they're all tuckered out, pull up the pegs, roll up the garden edging and pack it away.

Depending on the size of your dog, we have a range of baby gates that should work. Most of them are pressure fit, so there would be no need for screws or causing damage to your house and they can be set up and packed down with relative ease.

Allow me to tag @Nailbag, @JoeAzza and @DIYGnome to see what ideas they have.

Let me know what you think.

Hi @Lavigca

I think if it suits your dog, then @JacobZ idea is a great solution. As another possible one, Google " portable wading pools" There are plenty around from about $30 and up that are about 400mm deep which look like an ideal start
