Hi
Any tips on how I might clean my outdoor papers and path?
The path has dirt and rust like marks.
The pavers used to have artificial grass over them and the line is where the previous owner had glued it down .
We've tried Goof Off to get it off but as you can see it hasn't been terribly effective.
Hi @michellebrown,
It looks like your outdoor pavers and footpath have accumulated dirt, rust-like marks, and stubborn glue residues from the artificial grass that was previously glued down. Based on your photos, it seems like you're dealing with a few different challenges, but there are a few methods and products that could help.
First, for removing the glue, have you tried using a razor scraper? A razor scraper can be an effective tool for carefully cutting and scraping off glue without damaging the surface of the pavers. Make sure to hold the scraper at a shallow angle and gently work it across the glue line to avoid gouging the tiles. You can also warm the glue slightly with a heat gun or hairdryer before scraping to make it easier to lift.
As for the rust and tannin-like marks on the concrete path, Chemtech 5L Concrete and Driveway Cleaner might be worth trying. This product is designed to remove tough stains, including rust, tannins, and dirt that accumulate on concrete surfaces. It’s easy to apply—just dilute as directed, pour it onto the stained areas, and let it sit for a few minutes before scrubbing and rinsing off. This should help lift the marks from the surface and restore a cleaner look to your path.
For the tiled section of your path, you might want to consider Davco 1L Tile and Grout Cleaner. This cleaner is formulated specifically for use on tiles and grout, helping to lift dirt, grime, and stains from both porous and smooth surfaces. It’s safe for most tile types and should help with any marks or dirt. Just apply it to the affected areas, let it sit for a few minutes, and then scrub with a soft brush before rinsing off.
When using any cleaning products, it's important to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes gloves to protect your hands from harsh chemicals, safety goggles to shield your eyes from splashes, and, if you're working in a well-ventilated area, a dust mask to avoid inhaling any fumes or particles. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the product labels for safety.
Please let me know how you go and if you have any questions.
