We're renovating, and I'd like to improve the brickwork. You can see in this image how areas of the bricks have been spoiled over 30 years with various adjoining structures, leaving mortar and glue in a haphazard manner around the house. Of course I can scrape away the mortar, but it generally leaves residue. Are there any good tricks or solutions for getting the bricks back to an 'as new' condition?
thanks,
Geoff
Hi @geoffr,
Thank you for your question about cleaning the bricks at your home.
I'd suggest starting by giving the bricks a good clean with a pressure cleaner. As the grout and concrete slurry is not particularly strong, this should remove a lot of it.
Whatever is left over can be cleaned using this Chemtech Brick Tile And Paver Cleaner alongside a scrubbing brush such as this Sabco Heavy Duty Scrubbing Brush.
A combination of these two approaches will have your bricks looking new in no time.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
