I am looking for some ideas around covering this gate to give more privacy. Gate is steel and I have used shade cloth but this deteriorated quickly.
Hi @PGKN,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.
A couple of options that I think would be good are bamboo screening or trellis hedge screens, such as this Artificial Pittosporum Hedge Screen.
They could be attached to the gate very easily using cable ties.
Either of these options would be lightweight and easy to install while adding some significant privacy to the gate.
Allow me to tag @Dave-1, @AlanM52 and @JoeAzza to see if they have any ideas.
Let me know what you think.

Hi @PGKN,
That's a nice gate and whatever is used needs to blend in which rules out timber materials or other artificial materials so I am thinking something opaque or translucent - Flute Board.
Tunnelcore 2250 x 1220 x 8mm UV White Translucent Double Wall PP Flute Board
Its UV resistance, lightweight and robust structure ensures it can handle demanding indoor and outdoor projects. Easy to cut with a box cutter. It is impact-resistant, waterproof, and bendable.
How to fix that to the gate?
I have successfully used Velcro outdoors to secure flute board and polycarb roofing to the sides of chook sheds and bird aviaries etc.
Could also cable tie or spot glue.
Any other thoughts...???
Cheers
Good afternoon @PGKN
I am also going the route of attaching a screen to therear of the gate. Something like Jack Matrix 1800 x 900 x 6mm Charcoal Ferns Screen Panel attached with cable ties or brackets (Even Electrical saddles if you get ones that fit, you could modify them with a hammer
)
Screen Panels for a larger range of panels. Tho would steer clear of the rusted style ![]()
