How to dog-proof a metal and wooden gate?

We are moving into a property with a little cavoodle who can slip beneath and between these gates. We’re hoping to dog-proof without losing the look of the gates.
The wooden black gate is on a wheel on the far side (apologies for the photo that has this obscured behind the pot plant - we don’t yet have access to the property) so that it swings open towards the cobblestone patio. That is why it has been made without going down to floor level.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Dog proofing a metal and wooden gate

Hello @Charlie24

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about dog proofing your gate.

I suggest looking at the Sunlite 8 1.2 x 0.61m Clear Twinwall Polycarbonate Sheet and the Palclear 900x600x3mm PVC Sheet Suntuf. These panels are semi-transparent and can be placed in front of the gate without totally obscuring the view. You can fix it in place by drilling holes into them and using cable ties to temporarily link them to the gate. The panel can be lowered so that your pup can't slide out underneath. The panel can be cut down, so it only has to be tall enough to prevent the pup from jumping over it.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric
