Hi all,
I hope I am using the right terminology as I am not very familiar with air conditioners. I have this AC condensate drain pipe that was just left dripping directly next to the house which I understand is not ideal. What parts would I need to extend it to route it further away (to my veggie patch)? It seems to be 20mm.
Would something like this work? https://www.bunnings.com.au/holman-20mm-pvc-repair-coupling-fitting_p3140099
What do I attach it to though, should I get the same kind of rigid pipe, or something flexible?
Thanks in advance!
Hello @perth9223
I propose cutting a small section at the bottom of the pipe with a hack saw so that you can bring it to the store and compare it to the PVC pipes in the plumbing aisle. Generally speaking, you would need a Holman 20mm 90° White PVC Elbow and a Holman 20mm White PVC Coupling along with a length of Holman 20mm x 3m Class 12 PVC Pressure Pipes. Please note that these are recommendations and its best to double check the sizes with the sample piece you have with you.
Please don't forget to purchase the Protek 250ml Type N Clear PVC Cement For Non-Pressure Pipes. My best advice is to test fit all the fittings before applying glue to the PVC.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
Eric
Hi @perth9223,
What is the distance to the veggie patch?
Keep in mind the gravity thing.
I suggest poly pipe but if you really want to do the electrical conduit thing come back for more info because measuring up can be tricky.
Cheers
Thanks, Eric and Alan!
