How to extend a brick fence?

Hello all,

Are there any drawbacks of attaching metal tubular fencing to the back of an existing front brick fence (~2feet height) to extend the height to say 1.5m (after council approval). Fencing company mentioned that the tubular bars would be rivetted into the brick fence and would not go in the ground.

Thanks for sharing your question about your brick fence extension. Would it be possible for you to give us a little bit more information about the size of the tube and how big and heavy the extension fence part will be. What kind of fixings will the installer use to attach the metal post to the brick fence? Can you please post a photo of your brick fence. This will help our members get a better idea of its condition. We can then offer opinions on whether there are any drawbacks to this type of fence extension.
