How to extend height of boundary wall?

We have a wall boundry that I would like to extend higher for privacy. I would like to remove the jasmine and old bamboo screen and raise the height

by 400mm. Any ideas for how I could do this? I was thinking perhaps a trellis and bolting into the wall but not sure if it would be sturdy enough. Thank you

Re: How to extend height of boundary wall?

Hello @MehreenF

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your boundary wall.

Is your boundary wall made of masonry or brick? If it is, you would need to use a wall plug and screw that will be able to hold the weight of the trellis extension. A good example for a fence extension is the Matrix 1800 x 450mm Charcoal Ferns Fence Extension, you'll need to get some mounting poles which can be used to mount the panel to the wall using wall plugs and screws.

My best advice is to check with your local council first on the limits of fence extensions in your area. Once you are aware about the rules you can then get the correct fence height extension. An example of a wall plug and screw set are the Ramset Universal Anchor 8 x 50 Bx100.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
