Have an old home with plastic cladding that has deteriorated and sustained some storm damage. Starting with the front porch, removed it and found this. Pink....very interesting.
Have started removing the nails and filling them with outdoor wood filler. Plan is to paint white and add new window architraves. Add balustrade and retile

Just wanting to know what I should use to fill the cracks between the vertical and the horizontal hardwood weatherboard? Wood filler or silicone? Or something else.

Then what can I do to bridge this gap between the horizontal and vertical. And as you can see, nothing is square in an old house
