How to fill gap between concrete and house?

Hello experts,

I have a house with concrete sidewalk around the house. However, there is this gap between the sidewalk and foundation as shown in the pictures (I hope the pictures are clear).

I am after advice on whether this is a problem and also what are the steps to fill this gap.

Many thanks for your valuable advice.

Re: How to fill gap between concrete and house?

Good Morning @ozj

I probarlly wouldnt worry about that size of gap too much, houses and paths do expand and move a little during the course of a year so you may notice more sometimes then others. If it is worrying you, then you could use something like Sika 310ml Grey Concrete Sikaflex Pro+ Polyurethane Sealant (comes in different colours) to seal the join with a bit of flexibility.

I would also like to say howdy  and welcome you to the Bunnings community pages, Perfect place to wander through for these types of questions.

Re: How to fill gap between concrete and house?

Hello @ozj

Allow me to welcome you as well to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about the gap between your house and the concrete walkway.

It's great that you've received excellent advice from @Dave-1. Just to add to the suggestions made, if the gap between the wall and walkway are around 5mm or greater, I recommend inserting  Moroday 6mm x 5m White Gap Filler Rod or bigger if the gap is much wider. Push the filler rod around 5mm deep into the gap, this will prevent the Sikaflex from sinking in too deep into the gap and flowing away.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
